About Young Ah Ahn

Young Ah Ahn, a Pittsburgh-based painter, originally comes from South Korea. She has been working as a fine artist after earning her MA in Fine Arts at the graduate school of Ewha Womans University, Seoul, South Korea. Her work is based on photographs and drawings that she collected while traveling or in her daily life. The images are intuitively chosen among her resources, then rearranged on canvas. Not only does it give you a sense of unfamiliarity, but it also provides you with the power of imagination.

 

Young has been thinking about “boundaries” which we commonly encounter in our lives.

“The images which came from disparate areas actually did not have any relation with each other at all. However, the combination would create a new landscape as well as inspire you”, states Young.
